Horse Name and Breed: Sysco, Quarter Horse.Chloe - Canadian Cowgirls Picture

I was introduced to horses at age 7 with a week-long day camp that turned quickly into a lifelong passion.

I started taking lessons and showing in the hunter/jumper rings. Throughout high school I worked part-time to fund my equine obsession.  When I was 17 I spent my summer working at a horse camp where I fell in love with a little chestnut quarter horse.  He came home with me at the end of that summer and we’ve been a great team ever since.

I’ve never turned down the opportunity to try something new, so when I was invited to go watch the Canadian Cowgirls practice I was intrigued. It was incredible and I think I knew then that I wanted to be in that ring.  I brought Sysco out to a Canadian Cowgirls Drill Clinic at TJ Stables where we learned the basics of riding on a drill team.  I was shocked at how quickly Sysco settled in to the mentality of a drill horse and he still constantly surprises me.  Every time I ask something new of him he just takes it in stride and puts his whole heart into it.  He really is the horse of a lifetime for me.

Don’t pass up the chance to try something you’ve never done before.  Be confident in the skills you have as well as your ability to learn something from everyone you meet.  Go into everything with an open mind.  With a little patience, practice and determination the sky is the limit.

I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for us.  There is always an adventure on the horizon and with the support of this amazing team I truly believe anything is possible.
